This introductory doctors’ health learning module will broaden your understanding of your own health and the health of the medical profession. It will help you to explore the importance of prevention and timely intervention, the help-seeking behaviour of doctors and the benefits of having your own GP.

This is an interactive, self-paced two-hour module which is presented in four parts. It uses a range of learning methods to optimise your educational experience and to facilitate learning. The case studies are drawn from the significant clinical experience of doctors’ health experts across Australia and are realistic but fictional. Any resemblance to a doctor or doctors or student is purely coincidental.

Learning Outcomes

1. A greater understanding of the physical and mental health of the medical profession
2. An increased awareness of the barriers that prevent doctors and students from accessing formal health care
3. A clearer understanding of the occupational health and workplace risks which can impact upon doctors’ health
4. A better understanding of the help-seeking behaviour of doctors
5. A greater awareness of the ways doctors can confound the doctor-doctor consultation
6. A broader appreciation of the ways sustainable doctors maintain their health and wellbeing.
