Common Issues in Chronic Kidney Disease

Description

Early detection and intervention have been shown to reduce the progression of chronic kidney disease and its complications. It is essential to regularly check for the known complications of CKD and to monitor treatment targets. Common issue monitoring and management, according to best practice clinical action plans, explored in this activity include persistent albuminuria, hyperkalaemia, pain and pruritus.

  1. Discuss common issues to assess and monitor in people living with chronic kidney disease
  2. Explain the stepwise approach for treating persistent macroalbuminuria
  3. Interpret best practice clinical actions plans for the management of an individual with chronic kidney disease.
