An introduction to conversation

Description

Communication is a core clinical skill. This mini course is designed to provide learners with a more comprehensive understanding of how conversations work in practice so that they can draw on evidence from studies of real interactions to critically reflect on their own communication.

This is an online mini-course introducing how conversation in practice is structured and how this knowledge can help inform reflective practice. The course consists of recorded short talks along with reflection and quiz questions.


Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe the main organising principles of conversation
  2. Identify features of how we manage conversations moment-by-moment
  3. Reflect on how improving your knowledge of conversation can enhance your communication.
